CAAHT Rotary Club Updates!

Thank you to all who joined the meeting this week. If you weren't able to attend, we want to keep you updated, so here is what you missed:

In the Rotary Minute, Tracy gave an update on Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio. We have reduced cases by 99.9% since 1988. Only two countries remain endemic. Unless we eradicate polio, within 10 years as many as 200,000 new cases could occur around the world each year. The Bill Gates Foundation matches all Rotary contributions 2 to 1.

This week's Happy Dollars are donated to the End Polio Now fund in the donor's name. We raised $270! If you wish to donate, please venmo @CAAHTRotary with the note "Polio."

Our speaker was Stephanie Gregory with Armor Healthcare who works in re-entry at the jail. Last week there were 578 individuals incarcerated and 62% of that population are diagnosed with mental health challenges.

Jodi Whitt, our ITC liaison at the jail, and Alexis Tracy, our ITC Housing Coordinator have been busy helping women successfully reenter the community after incarceration. They have placed more than XXX women in transitional housing this year.

CAAHT has been awarded three District Rotary Grants!

- Rotary Cares Kits - $3750 to make 65 care kits for our ITC program. Contact Sharon Sullivan to help with this project @

- New Beginnings - Postpartum Care Kits for Mothers - $1125 to make kits with healing essential to reduce infection risk, manage pain, and promote safer recover after child birth for new mothers. Please donate an infant board book to include in these kits to promote literacy!

- Dignity Kit Project: Restoring Dignity of Women and Girls in Uganda - Join our meeting on October 20 to learn more from World Peace Fellow and project manager, Jennifer Montgomery.

2025 Rotary District 5710 Conference in Lenexa

CAAHT service project at District Conference in Lenexa

Rotarians and Rotary Exchange Students assembled 200 care kits to be distributed to victims of domestic violence, exploitation, or trafficking.

Rotary Friendship Exchange and ITC

Our ITC (Intersection to Care) project at the Shawnee county jail hosted a Rotary Friendship Exchange team from South Africa. Jodi Whitt, Kristen Shook, and two female inmates who participate in the ITC programming gave a profound and inspiring presentation.
