ReHope and Veronica's Voice United!
Jason Alvis, Chief Executive Officer, and Kristy Childs, Operations & Social Enterprise Manager, of ReHope, will share the work they are doing to fight human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Kansas.
In 1997, Jason graduated from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and an Associate of Arts in Christian Service. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the US Army’s Transportation Corps. During his 25-year Army career, he lived on four continents and held command and leadership positions at every rank, culminating with his retirement in 2022 as a colonel.
While in the Army, Jason earned two master’s degrees (Master’s of Operational Planning in 2009 & Master’s of Strategic Studies in 2020) from the Army’s School of Advanced Military Studies. His thesis paper for his 2020 requirements was focused on the Department of Defense’s role and responsibility in human trafficking.
From May – August 2022, Jason was the Operations Intern at ReHope as part of an Army sponsored Career Skills Program for retiring service members. In October 2022, he was hired as the Director of Operations. In October 2023, he accepted the position as Chief Executive Officer.
