Modern Slavery

Chris Crewther MP is the Member for Mornington, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Justice and Corrections, and Liberal Party Whip in the Legislative Assembly, in the Victorian Parliament. He is also a member of the Frankston Rotary Club. Until recently, Chris was also Head of Strategic Partnerships with the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, ran his own small business, and was a member of Australia’s Modern Slavery Expert Advisory Group. Previously, Chris represented Mount Eliza and Mornington residents as their Federal MP. In Federal Parliament, Chris was Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Aid Sub-Committee, and the Australian Government’s Home Affairs and Legal Affairs Policy Committee. Through these roles, Chris instigated and led Parliament’s Modern Slavery Inquiry, bringing about Australia’s Modern Slavery Act. For this work, Chris was awarded Anti-Slavery Australia’s Freedom Award, and named in the Top 100 Global Corporate Social Responsibility Influence Leaders.
