Misty Bosch-Hastings is the Director of the Homeless Solutions Division for the City of Lawrence, Kansas. With a deep commitment to addressing homelessness and improving housing solutions, Misty leads efforts to create and manage emergency, transitional, and permanent housing programs. Her work includes building cross-agency, multi-sector partnerships and developing innovative programming such as winter emergency shelter overflow and operationalizing The Village, a shelter community launched in 2024.
Misty is recognized for her strategic leadership and collaborative approach. She successfully led the encampment closures of Camp New Beginnings and the Amtrak homeless camp, working closely with service providers, law enforcement, and municipal services to transition approximately 80 individuals to safer and more supportive environments. Her initiatives have expanded shelter capacity and programming, transforming services to focus on long-term housing sustainability and recovery.
Misty also focuses on increasing public awareness and engagement around homelessness issues through various community outreach initiatives, including her podcast, Collaborative Solutions. Her expertise extends to program development, policy creation, and securing critical funding, as demonstrated by her work with local and state partners to bring in resources and expand services for those in need.
